Communicating cybersecurity to an SME presents a real communication challenge. The risk exists, threats are constantly evolving and protection is increasingly necessary, but the sector often uses technical language that can feel complex for companies that need to quickly understand what risks they face and how they can protect themselves.
For HackBlock, we developed a 360° communication strategy based on an initial analysis and strategy phase. Before defining how the brand should communicate, we needed to understand the cybersecurity market in Spain, identify positioning opportunities and gain an in-depth understanding of the client HackBlock wanted to reach.
Based on this strategic work, we built a more defined and coherent communication approach, which we then applied across different brand touchpoints: rebranding, website copywriting and a content strategy for LinkedIn.
A strong communication strategy begins long before designing an identity or writing a message.
The first step of the project was to carry out an analysis of the cybersecurity market in Spain in order to understand the context in which HackBlock was competing.
We studied the sector, its main characteristics, the existing offer and the way in which other cybersecurity companies presented their services.
This analysis allowed us to identify opportunities to build a distinctive positioning and establish the foundations on which the entire communication strategy would later be developed.
Cybersecurity encompasses a wide range of services, solutions, technologies and customer profiles. Trying to communicate to the entire market can cause a brand to lose differentiation.
That is why a fundamental part of the project consisted of analysing HackBlock’s niche within the cybersecurity market.
The aim was to define where the company could provide the greatest value and build a communication proposal capable of setting it apart within a highly specialised and competitive sector.
This work allowed us to establish a clearer direction for the brand and focus its communication on the real needs of the companies it wanted to reach.
We also carried out a study of HackBlock’s ideal client.
We analysed their needs, concerns, motivations and possible barriers when it comes to hiring cybersecurity services.
This insight was especially important when defining the brand’s tone of voice.
When a company sells a technological service, there is a risk of focusing its message on features, tools and technical concepts. However, the client needs to understand what all of this means for their business.
The strategy aimed precisely to bring these two worlds closer together: maintaining HackBlock’s credibility and specialist knowledge while building communication that SMEs could easily understand.
Once the positioning had been defined, we worked on HackBlock’s rebranding.
The evolution of the identity had to support the company’s new strategic direction and help build a recognisable brand within the cybersecurity sector.
The aim of the rebranding was to give HackBlock a visual presence that was more coherent with its value proposition, its specialisation and the business audience it addresses.
In this way, strategy, identity and communication began to work in the same direction.
A website is one of the main points of contact between a cybersecurity company and a potential client.
For HackBlock, we developed the website copywriting, translating all the previous strategic work into clear messages.
The priority was to create texts capable of explaining the services from the client’s perspective: what problem exists, why they should be concerned, how it can affect them and how HackBlock can help.
We worked on the message hierarchy, headlines, value proposition, service explanations and calls to action, seeking to guide the user from the identification of a need to an understanding of the solution.
The result is communication that makes a complex sector easier to understand and helps SMEs make better-informed decisions.
The 360° strategy continued on social media with the management of HackBlock’s LinkedIn presence.
Due to its professional and B2B nature, LinkedIn became a particularly relevant channel for developing the brand’s positioning, sharing knowledge about cybersecurity and connecting with decision-makers and business professionals.
We worked on a content strategy designed to combine education, current affairs, awareness and specialist knowledge.
The aim was for the posts to provide value even before any commercial relationship with the brand had been established. Explaining risks, sharing recommendations and making concepts related to digital security more accessible helps to gradually build trust and authority.
The main value of the HackBlock project lies in the connection between all its phases.
The market research allowed us to understand the context. The ideal client analysis helped us define who we needed to speak to. The identification of the niche established a positioning territory. The rebranding translated that strategy into the visual identity. The copywriting turned it into messages, and LinkedIn allowed it to be developed continuously.
This is how we built a 360° communication strategy in which every action responds to the same direction.
The HackBlock project reflects the way we work at Símbolo IC: researching, understanding and defining before communicating.
Especially in technical sectors such as cybersecurity, effective communication needs to find the right balance between specialist knowledge and clarity. A brand must show that it knows what it is talking about, while ensuring its client understands why that knowledge matters to them.
Strategy, branding, copywriting and content thus become different expressions of the same brand idea.
At Símbolo IC, we develop communication strategies that begin with analysis in order to build brands with clear positioning, a coherent identity and messages capable of connecting with the right people.
Tell us about your project. We will study where you are, who you want to reach and how to build communication that sets you apart.
